1. The furnace types of high-temperature furnace and muffle furnace are developing towards large-scale, multi-stage, mechanization and automation. The preheating section has become a new heating section due to the increase of temperature.

Expand the furnace and increase the loading capacity. For example, in the 1950s, China’s blooming mills built a number of central burner heat exchange soaking pits. Due to the large area of the furnace bottom occupied by the central burner and some other shortcomings, most of this furnace type was gradually transformed into soaking pits with upper four corner burners or upper one-sided burners, which increased the charging area of the furnace bottom and the productivity of the furnace by 10% – 20%
Improve the furnace shape and size to make it more reasonable. The furnace type and size of some furnaces adopt general design, regardless of the specific conditions. Sometimes the fuel type and billet size are very different from the design. Some furnaces are too high, the metal surface temperature is low, some furnace tops are too low, the thickness of gas layer is thin, and the intermediate effect of furnace wall heat transfer is reduced. These are not conducive to heat exchange. According to practical experience, the furnace shape and size should be improved to speed up the heating of billet, so as to improve the productivity of the furnace.
