What are the types of customized muffle furnace heating elements?

Time:2025-04-15 Click:0

The heating elements for customized muffle furnaces mainly include the following:

Electric furnace wire:
Material: Usually made of iron chromium aluminum and nickel chromium electric heating alloy wire as raw materials.
Characteristics: The melting point is generally below 1400 ℃, and oxidation reactions are prone to occur at high temperatures.
Applicable temperature: Suitable for heating below 1000 ℃.
Classification: It mainly includes two categories: iron chromium aluminum alloy electric furnace wire and nickel chromium alloy electric furnace wire. Iron chromium aluminum alloy electric furnace wire is an alloy material with ferritic structure, while nickel chromium alloy electric furnace wire is an alloy material with austenitic structure.

Silicon carbide:
Material: Mainly made of high-purity green hexagonal silicon carbide.
Characteristics: Hard and brittle, resistant to rapid cooling and heating, not easily deformed at high temperatures, with high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, fast temperature rise, long service life, small deformation at high temperatures, and easy installation and maintenance. However, long-term use above 1000 ℃ can react with oxygen and water vapor, leading to component aging.
Applicable temperature: The normal operating temperature in an oxidizing atmosphere can reach 1450 ℃, and continuous use can last up to 2000 hours. It is suitable for heating at 1000-1300 ℃.

Silicon molybdenum rod:
Characteristic: Under high temperature oxidation atmosphere, a quartz protective layer is formed on the surface to prevent further oxidation. When the temperature of the component exceeds 1700 ℃, the quartz protective layer melts and the component continues to be used in an oxidizing atmosphere, resulting in the regeneration of the quartz protective layer. But it should not be used for a long time within the range of 400~700 ℃, otherwise it will pulverize due to the strong oxidation effect of low temperature.
Applicable temperature: The commonly used furnace body temperature is 1600-1750 ℃, suitable for heating above 1600 ℃.
In addition, there are other heating methods such as molybdenum wire, infrared heating tubes, etc., but these are relatively rare in muffle furnaces. When selecting heating elements, it is necessary to comprehensively consider factors such as the specific operating temperature, atmosphere requirements, and cost of the muffle furnace.
