Technical principles
1400 ℃ vacuum box type muffle furnace generally adopts resistance heating method, and high-temperature resistant heating elements such as silicon carbon rods or silicon molybdenum rods are installed inside the furnace. After the power is turned on, the current passes through the heating element. Due to the resistance, the electrical energy is converted into thermal energy, and the temperature of the heating element rapidly increases. Then, through thermal radiation and conduction, the temperature inside the furnace rises to the set 1400 ℃. The temperature control system equipped with this device usually uses temperature sensors such as thermocouples to monitor the temperature inside the furnace in real time, and feeds back the temperature signal to the temperature controller. The controller automatically adjusts the power supply of the heating element based on the difference between the set temperature and the actual temperature, achieving control of the furnace temperature with an accuracy of about ± 1 ℃.

Application area
Materials Science: Used to study the thermal properties and phase transition behavior of various materials. By heating materials at different temperatures and atmospheres, we can gain a deeper understanding of their microstructure and properties, providing strong support for the development and application of new materials.

Key points for purchasing
Temperature range: Ensure that the operating temperature range of the equipment can meet actual needs. Generally, during use, the temperature of the muffle furnace should be 100-200 ℃ higher than the operating temperature.
Furnace size: Choose the appropriate furnace size based on the number and size of samples to be processed, and the furnace volume should generally be more than three times the total volume of the samples.
Furnace material: Common furnace materials include ceramic fibers and refractory bricks. Ceramic fiber furnace heats up quickly and saves energy, but its stability is slightly weaker at high temperatures; The refractory brick furnace is durable, but the heating process is slower. If used frequently and with high requirements for temperature uniformity, ceramic fiber furnaces may be more suitable; If working at high temperatures for a long time and requiring high stability, then a refractory brick furnace is a better choice.
Heating element: Resistance wire is used below 1200 ℃, silicon carbon rod is basically used for 1300-1400 ℃, and silicon molybdenum rod is basically used for 1400-1700 ℃.
Vacuum system: The ultimate vacuum degree should reach 10 ⁻ Pa or higher, the pumping rate should be fast, and the vacuum sealing should be good. Metal seals or fluororubber O-rings should be used for furnace doors, flanges, and other parts to prevent air leakage.
Safety performance: The muffle furnace with safety functions such as overheating protection and break protection can effectively prevent accidents from occurring. Good insulation design can reduce shell temperature and lower the risk of burns.
Control method: Modern muffle furnaces are usually digitally controlled, which is easy to operate and precise. Some also have programmable control functions, which can set multiple temperature ranges and times to achieve complex heat treatment processes. For experiments that require complex temperature curve control, programmable controlled muffle furnaces are more suitable.
Brand and after-sales service: Choose a brand with good reputation and service to ensure product quality and after-sales service.
