Common faults of customized rotary tube furnace with multiple temperature zones

Time:2025-07-03 Click:0

As a high-precision heat treatment equipment, customized rotary tube furnaces with multiple temperature zones may encounter the following common faults and solutions in the powder metallurgy industry:

1. Power and instrument faults
No display on the instrument after power on
Possible reasons: The plug is not properly inserted, the fuse is blown, and the control circuit fuse is blown.
Solution: Check the connection status of the plug, replace the fuse or fuse, and investigate the problem of short circuit in the circuit.
The instrument panel is normal, but the OUT indicator light is not flashing
Possible cause: Main circuit malfunction (such as open circuit of heating resistor wire, damaged thyristor).
Solution: Check if the resistance wire is short circuited, confirm the controllability of the heating element, and replace the resistance wire or temperature controller if necessary.

2. Temperature control malfunction
The temperature inside the furnace does not rise
Possible reasons: set temperature too low, damaged heating element, temperature controller malfunction, damaged control circuit.
Solution: Adjust the set temperature to the target value, replace damaged heating elements or temperature controllers, and notify professionals to inspect the control circuit.
The deviation between the set temperature and the actual temperature is large
Possible reasons: Damage to temperature sensor or temperature controller, deviation between temperature measurement point and layout point.
Solution: Replace the sensor or temperature controller, recalibrate the layout position to ensure temperature measurement accuracy.
During the heating process, the temperature does not rise but instead decreases
Possible reason: The positive and negative poles of the thermocouple are reversed.
Solution: Swap the direction of the thermocouple connector and restore the correct polarity.

3. Heating element and furnace tube malfunction
Heating element fracture
Phenomenon: The ammeter shows no current, while the voltmeter displays normally.
Solution: Open the furnace door to check the integrity of the heating element and replace the broken parts (not all parts need to be replaced).
Cracks or deformations in furnace tubes
Possible reasons: Long term use at high temperatures may cause material aging or thermal stress damage.
Solution: Regularly check the condition of the furnace tube and replace it immediately if cracks or deformations are found to avoid safety hazards.

4. Atmosphere and sealing failure
The atmosphere inside the furnace is impure
Possible reasons: aging or damage of the sealing ring, insufficient gas flow.
Solution: Replace the sealing material to ensure airtightness, check the gas flow meter and pipeline, and adjust the flow rate to meet the process requirements.
Oxidation or contamination of experimental samples
Possible reasons: Insufficient flow of protective gas or leakage inside the furnace.
Solution: Increase gas flow rate, inspect sealing areas, and replace aging components.

5. Rotation and mechanical failure
Rotation function failure
Possible reasons: motor malfunction, worn transmission components, or control circuit issues.
Solution: Check the operation status of the motor, replace worn transmission components (such as bearings and gears), and inspect the control circuit.
Abnormal inclination or vibration of the furnace body
Possible reasons: Loose supporting structure, unbalanced rotating mechanism.
Solution: Tighten the furnace support bolts, adjust the balance of the rotating mechanism, and reduce vibration.

6. Parameter setting and operation failure
The device is not working or running abnormally
Possible reasons: Incorrect parameter settings (such as high heating rate, temperature exceeding limit).
Solution: Contact the manufacturer for guidance and reset the process parameters (such as heating rate ≤ 10 ℃/min, cooling rate ≤ 15 ℃/min).
Over temperature alarm
Possible reasons: set temperature too low, temperature controller malfunction.
Solution: Adjust the set temperature to a reasonable range and replace the damaged temperature controller.

7. Long term usage and maintenance recommendations
Regular maintenance
Check heating elements, sealing rings, and transmission components monthly, calibrate temperature control systems quarterly, and replace aging components (such as furnace tubes and thermocouples) annually.
Operating specifications
After the first use or long-term shutdown, the furnace body should be activated by baking at 120 ℃ for 1 hour and baking at 300 ℃ for 2 hours to avoid furnace cracking.
safety protection
Do not pour liquids or dissolve metals into the furnace, keep the furnace clean; Wear protective equipment when handling high-temperature components to prevent burns.
