Experimental multi temperature zone rotary furnaces may encounter various faults during operation, which usually involve power supply, temperature control, heating elements, main circuits, thermocouples, furnace tubes, and seals. The following are common faults and their troubleshooting methods:
1. Power related faults
The instrument indicator light is not on
Possible reasons: unplugged plug, circuit malfunction, blown fuse.
Troubleshooting: Check if the plug is properly plugged in or connected, replace the fuse, troubleshoot the power issue, and restart the device.
The voltage and power supply are normal, but the equipment is not working
Possible cause: Incorrect parameter settings for the rotary furnace.
Exclusion method: Notify the manufacturer to set the correct parameters.
2. Temperature control related faults
The power supply and heating elements are normal, but the temperature inside the furnace does not rise
Possible reasons: Low set temperature, damaged control circuit, faulty heating element, faulty temperature controller.
Exclusion method: Adjust the set temperature and notify professional maintenance personnel to repair the control circuit or replace the heating element and temperature controller.
There is a deviation between the set temperature and the actual temperature inside the furnace
Possible reasons: Damage to temperature sensors or temperature controllers, deviation between temperature measurement points and layout points.
Exclusion method: Replace the temperature sensor or temperature controller and position it correctly.
During the heating process, the temperature does not rise but instead decreases
Possible reason: The positive and negative poles of the thermocouple are reversed.
Exclusion method: Swap the thermocouple connector.
3. Heating element related faults
The ammeter has no current, but the voltmeter has voltage
Possible cause: Heating element breakage.
Exclusion method: Replace the broken heating element according to the instructions.
4. Main circuit related faults
The instrument output is normal, and the OUT indicator light is not flashing
Possible reasons: Main circuit malfunction, such as open circuit of heating resistor wire and damage to thyristor.
Exclusion method: Check if the resistance wire is short circuited, if the heating element is controllable, replace the resistance wire or temperature controller.
5. Other faults
Cracks or deformations appear in the furnace tube
Possible reason: Prolonged use at high temperatures may cause the furnace tube to rupture or age.
Exclusion method: Regularly check the condition of the furnace tube, and replace it immediately if cracks or deformations are found to prevent safety hazards.
The atmosphere inside the furnace is impure
Possible cause: Aging or damage of the sealing ring.
Exclusion method: Check the sealing area and replace the sealing material if necessary to ensure good airtightness of the tube furnace.
Uneven temperature distribution inside the furnace
Possible reasons: Improper layout of furnace tubes, failure of heating elements.
Exclusion method: Check the integrity of the heating element and replace it if any damage is found. Meanwhile, adjust the placement of the sample to ensure even heating.
Oxidation or contamination of experimental samples
Possible reason: Insufficient flow of protective gas inside the furnace.
Exclusion method: Check the gas flow meter and pipeline, confirm that the gas supply is normal, and adjust the flow rate appropriately.
