Common faults and solutions of vacuum atmosphere muffle furnace
1. Heating system malfunction
The stove is not heating up
reason:
The fuse is blown (such as a broken fuse in the control cabinet).
Heating element open circuit (such as aging or breakage of silicon carbon rod, silicon molybdenum rod).
The solid-state relay is damaged (causing the heating command to be unable to be transmitted).
resolvent:
Check and replace the fuse to ensure that the specifications match.
Use a multimeter to test the resistance value of the heating element (such as the cold resistance of the silicon carbide rod should be 5-10 Ω). If it is abnormal, replace it.
Check the conductivity of the solid-state relay and replace it with a relay of the same model if necessary.
The temperature does not rise or rises slowly
reason:
Unstable power supply voltage or excessive voltage drop in power supply lines.
Poor contact between furnace wires or poor sealing of the furnace leads to heat loss.
Fault in the air circulation system (such as failure to open the regulating damper or abnormal motor operation).
resolvent:
Check the power supply voltage and socket contact, and adjust the power supply circuit.
Tighten the furnace wire connection points and repair the furnace sealing components (such as replacing high-temperature resistant sealing strips).
Check the air circulation system, clean the baffle or replace the motor.
2. Temperature control malfunction
Abnormal temperature display (large deviation from set value)
reason:
The thermocouple is reversed, damaged, or improperly inserted into the furnace.
Temperature control instrument parameters are incorrect (such as improper PID settings).
The aging of furnace insulation leads to heat leakage.
resolvent:
Swap the polarity of the thermocouple output leads or replace damaged thermocouples.
Calibrate temperature control instrument parameters and reset PID values.
Check the sealing and insulation material status of the furnace, and replace them if necessary.
Temperature overshoot or over temperature protection triggered
reason:
Solid state relay malfunction causing continuous heating.
Temperature controller malfunction or poor heat dissipation.
resolvent:
Check the conductivity of solid-state relays and replace damaged components.
Check the thermostat and cooling system, clean the ventilation openings or repair the fan.
3. Vacuum and atmosphere system malfunction
Insufficient vacuum degree
reason:
The vacuum pump is not working properly (such as motor failure or insufficient oil level).
Air leakage caused by aging of seals or worn joints.
resolvent:
Check the power and oil level of the vacuum pump, repair or replace the pump body.
Replace high-temperature resistant seals and repair the joints of the furnace body.
Protecting the unstable atmosphere
reason:
Atmosphere flow controller or pressure controller malfunction.
Gas pipeline leakage or valve not open.
resolvent:
Check the working status of the atmosphere controller and replace faulty components.
Use soapy water to detect pipeline leaks, tighten valves or replace seals.
4. Electrical and communication faults
The device cannot start or suddenly shuts down
reason:
The power cord is not connected or the residual current circuit breaker trips.
The furnace door was not tightly closed, resulting in the travel switch not being triggered.
Short circuit or overload of electrical components.
resolvent:
Check the status of the power cord and circuit breaker to ensure proper connection.
Close the furnace door and check the flexibility of the travel switch. Adjust or replace it if necessary.
Use a multimeter to test the circuit, repair the short circuit point or replace the overload component.
Communication interruption or data transmission failure
reason:
The serial port connection is loose or has poor contact.
Controller software malfunction or abnormal thermocouple signal.
resolvent:
Re plug and unplug the serial port cable, and check the connection reliability.
Restart the device or upgrade the firmware, calibrate the installation position of the thermocouple.
5. Mechanical and structural failures
The furnace door is stuck or poorly sealed
reason:
The hinge is deformed or the track is blocked by foreign objects.
The sealing strip is aging or the door magnetic switch is malfunctioning.
resolvent:
Clean up foreign objects on the track and adjust the hinge position.
Replace the sealing strip or door magnetic sensor.
Abnormal noise or vibration inside the furnace
reason:
Fan bearings are worn or mechanical components are loose.
resolvent:
Tighten loose parts, lubricate or replace fan bearings.
Maintenance suggestions
Regular inspection: Calibrate thermocouples monthly, inspect heating elements and seals quarterly, and clean ventilation systems annually.
Operating standards:
Avoid overloading and ensure operation within rated load.
When taking and placing samples in the furnace, turn off the power first and handle with care.
Safety precautions:
Keep the working environment away from flammable materials and corrosive gases.
Install grounding wires and ensure good grounding to prevent electrical leakage.
