What processes can vertical vacuum furnaces be used for?

Time:2025-08-04 Click:0

Vertical vacuum furnaces, with their vacuum environment and precise temperature control technology, can be applied in core processes such as vacuum annealing, vacuum quenching, vacuum sintering, vacuum brazing, vacuum purification, and special atmosphere heat treatment in the metal industry. The specific instructions are as follows:

Annealing
Application scenario: Eliminating metal processing stress, adjusting grain structure, improving ductility and wear resistance. For example, after vacuum annealing, stainless steel bearings have improved surface smoothness and extended fatigue life; Titanium and titanium alloys, zirconium and zirconium alloys can optimize their mechanical properties through vacuum annealing.
Technical advantages: Vacuum environment avoids oxidation and decarburization, and the material properties are more stable after annealing.

Vacuum quenching
Application scenario: Rapid cooling is achieved through high-pressure gas (such as nitrogen) or oil quenching to enhance metal hardness and strength. For example, after vacuum quenching, the depth uniformity of the hardened layer of mold steel reaches ± 0.1mm, and the service life of the mold is significantly improved.
Technical advantages: After quenching, the surface quality of the material is high, the deformation is small, and it is suitable for high-precision part processing.

Vacuum sintering
Application scenario: To achieve high-temperature densification and sintering of metal powders, avoiding oxidation and agglomeration. For example, hard alloy cutting tools can achieve a hardness of HRC92 or higher through vacuum sintering, resulting in improved bending strength; The powder forming and sintering of refractory alloys such as tungsten, molybdenum, and their alloys also rely on vacuum sintering technology.
Technical advantages: The sintered body has high density and excellent performance, suitable for the preparation of high-performance metal materials.

Vacuum brazing
Application scenario: Using solder to melt and fill joint gaps in a vacuum environment to achieve high-strength metal connections. For example, aviation components use vacuum brazed titanium alloy blades, with a brazed joint strength of over 95% of the base material and extremely low leakage rate, meeting aerospace standards.
Technical advantages: High quality brazed joints, no oxidation impurities, suitable for connecting precision components.

Vacuum purification
Application scenario: By using a rotating stirring mechanism to enhance the fluidity of metals, the volatilization rate of impurities is increased, and the production cycle is shortened. For example, in the process of copper purification, a vacuum furnace can produce electronic grade copper foil with a purity of over 99.99%.
Technical advantages: High purification efficiency, high product purity, suitable for the preparation of high-purity metal materials.

Special atmosphere heat treatment
Application scenario: Special heat treatment of metal materials under vacuum or protective atmosphere (such as hydrogen) conditions. For example, the tempering process of alloy steels such as tool steel and mold steel, as well as the vacuum annealing treatment of special alloy materials such as magnetic materials and superconducting materials.
Technical advantage: It can accurately control the heat treatment atmosphere to meet the performance requirements of special materials.
