The common faults and solutions when calcining powders in a high-temperature rotary furnace can be summarized as follows:

1. Electrical system malfunction
The instrument indicator light does not light up after power on
Reason: The plug is not properly inserted, the circuit is faulty, and the fuse is blown.
Solution: Check if the plug is plugged in or connected properly, check if the fuse is blown, troubleshoot the power issue, and restart the device.
The instrument is outputting normally, but the OUT indicator light is not flashing
Reason: There is a malfunction in the main circuit, such as a short circuit in the resistance wire, damage to the heating element, and damage to the thyristor.
Solution: Check if the resistance wire is short circuited, if the heating element is controllable, replace the resistance wire or temperature controller; Check if the thyristor is damaged and replace it if necessary.
The ammeter has no current, while the voltmeter has voltage
Reason: The heating element is broken.
Solution: Replace the broken heating element according to the instructions.
The voltage and power supply are normal, but the equipment is not working
Reason: Incorrect parameter settings for the rotary furnace.
Solution: Notify the manufacturer to set the correct parameters.

2. Temperature control malfunction
There is a deviation between the set temperature and the actual temperature inside the furnace
Reason: The temperature sensor or temperature controller is damaged, and there is a deviation in the position of the layout point.
Solution: Replace the temperature sensor or thermostat and position it correctly.
During the heating process, the temperature does not rise but instead decreases
Reason: The positive and negative poles of the thermocouple are reversed.
Solution: Replace the thermocouple connector.
The temperature inside the furnace does not rise
Reason: The set temperature is low or the control circuit is damaged.
Solution: Adjust the set temperature and notify maintenance personnel to inspect the control circuit.

3. Mechanical system malfunction
Abnormal rotation of furnace body
Reason: Damaged rotating bearings, loose or broken transmission belts, motor malfunction.
Solution: Check and replace damaged bearings, adjust or replace drive belts, and inspect or replace motors.
The furnace body is not tightly sealed
Reason: The sealing ring is aging or damaged, and the furnace door is not tightly closed.
Solution: Replace the sealing ring to ensure that the furnace door is tightly closed.

4. Process operation malfunction
Powder clumping
Reason: Uneven powder particle size, high moisture content, high calcination temperature, or long insulation time.
Solution: Control the powder particle size evenly, pre dry until the moisture content is below the standard value, adjust the calcination temperature and insulation time.
Powder oxidation
Reason: impure calcination atmosphere (such as high oxygen content), equipment leakage.
Solution: Use high-purity gas to ensure good sealing of the equipment, regularly inspect and replace aging seals.
Unstable output
Reason: Unstable feeding volume and equipment malfunction leading to shutdown.
Solution: Stabilize the feeding amount, strengthen equipment maintenance and upkeep, and reduce downtime.

5. Other faults and preventive measures
Corrosion of furnace body
Reason: The insulation layer inside the furnace is damaged, causing high-temperature gas to directly act on the surface of the shell.
Solution: Regularly inspect the internal condition of the furnace and promptly repair or replace damaged insulation layers.
preventive maintenance
Regular inspection: Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the high-temperature rotary furnace on a regular basis, including electrical systems, mechanical systems, seals, etc.
Timely replacement of spare parts: Reserve commonly used vulnerable parts (such as sealing rings, temperature sensors, resistance wires, etc.) to ensure timely replacement in case of failure.
Operation training: Regularly train operators to improve their ability to diagnose and handle equipment failures.
