1. Inert gas
Nitrogen (N ₂)
Function: As a protective gas, it prevents materials from oxidizing at high temperatures and is commonly used in processes such as metal annealing and ceramic sintering.
Application scenarios: Electronic component packaging, powder metallurgy sintering, and other scenarios that require oxygen isolation.
Argon gas (Ar)
Function: The chemical properties are extremely stable, providing a high-purity inert environment and avoiding contact between the material and oxygen.
Application scenarios: Semiconductor device manufacturing, titanium alloy processing, and other processes that require high purity.
Helium (He)
Function: Good thermal conductivity, suitable for rapid heating or cooling processes, while providing inert protection.
Application scenarios: Manufacturing of high-temperature alloys, heat treatment of special materials.

2. Reducing gas
Hydrogen (H ₂)
Function: Accelerate the heating process, improve the heat treatment effect, and participate in the reaction as a reducing agent.
Application scenarios: Metal powder metallurgy sintering, hydrogen reduction furnace process.
Attention: Strict pressure control and explosion prevention are required, and hydrogen leak alarm devices should be equipped.
Carbon monoxide (CO)
Function: As a reducing agent, it participates in the reduction reaction of metal oxides.
Application scenarios: Specific metal smelting, carbon material preparation.

3. Oxidizing gas
Oxygen (O ₂)
Function: Provide oxygen supply agent, promote combustion or oxidation reaction, and accelerate heating speed.
Application scenarios: Sample ashing, determination of ignition loss, metal oxidation treatment.
Attention: It is necessary to control the concentration to avoid excessive oxidation that may lead to a decrease in material properties.
air
Function: Contains approximately 21% oxygen, suitable for processes that require an oxidizing atmosphere.
Application scenarios: biomass fluidized pyrolysis, coal pyrolysis, etc.

4. Special mixed gas
Nitrogen hydrogen mixture (N ₂+H ₂)
Function: Combining nitrogen protection and hydrogen reduction characteristics, suitable for processes such as carburizing and carbonitriding.
Application scenarios: Metal surface treatment, annealing.
Nitrogen hydrocarbon mixture (N ₂+hydrocarbons)
Function: Provide a protective atmosphere while participating in carburizing or carbonitriding reactions.
Application scenarios: Heat treatment of alloy steel products, sintering of cutting tools.
Ammonia gas (NH3)
Function: Decompose to produce nitrogen and hydrogen, used for nitriding treatment or providing a reducing atmosphere.
Application scenarios: Metal surface hardening, synthesis of special materials.

5. Other special gases
Methane (CH ₄)
Function: As a carbon source, it participates in the carburizing process or decomposes to produce hydrogen gas, providing reducibility.
Application scenarios: Surface modification of metal materials, preparation of carbon materials.
Rare gases such as neon (Ne) and krypton (Kr)
Function: Provide high-purity inert environment, suitable for special material research.
Application scenarios: Aerospace material development, semiconductor device manufacturing.
